Poised is an early-stage startup on a mission to improve spoken communication for remote work. We created the category of an AI-powered communication coach and platform that can provide real-time feedback in meetings. In the process we aspire to democratize the language for career mobility, improve diversity and inclusion, and bring more understanding and compassion to professionals.
Our team from Amazon Alexa, Microsoft Teams, and ASAPP and we have launched top 5 grossing iOS and Android applications and built large bottoms-up SaaS businesses. We are looking for a learning sciences and education research professional who is ready to accelerate their career. You’ll establish the foundation for how users on our platform learn how to become confident and clear communicators at work. We care less about the years of experience you have and more about the impact of your efforts, your work ethic and your desire to be an instrumental player in building a business.
Work Experience
Learning science expertise. You specialize in research at the intersection of learning sciences, cognitive psychology, and education.
Experience with educational research. You are skilled in a variety of research methods used in education and can effectively collaborate with data scientists and user experience researchers.
Creativity and applied focus. You are passionate about solving practical problems, and can think creatively about how to apply your knowledge in the context of developing an engaging app.
Strong communication. You are an effective, honest, and personable communicator (both written and verbal). You are comfortable and effective speaking in front of groups of all sizes.
What You Will Do
Provide high-level product guidance from the learning science perspective by translating research findings into concrete ideas that can be applied
Build out a video based learning coaching program on web, mobile, and desktop
Identify and apply appropriate research methods for several product-related goals: gaining insights into the pedagogical strengths and weaknesses of Poised, finding opportunities for improvement, or assessing the overall product effectiveness
Build the learning function from the ground up, growing into a team as we scale
Collaborate cross-functionally on developing pedagogically-focused product features while leveraging external curriculum designers and content developers
