Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace.
What You’ll Do:
Team Leadership: Hire, manage, and mentor a team of Business Development Representatives, providing support to help onboard and develop team members.
Set Clear Performance Expectations: Establish and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives for the BDR team. Monitor individual and team performance to ensure everyone is working towards meeting or exceeding goals.
Prospecting, Lead Generation, Lead Qualification: Support our new business efforts by identifying potential customers through strategic prospecting, research, and outreach (cold calling, networking, campaigns, etc). Assess leads to ensure alignment through discovery calls, as well as further increase interest and engagement in Sierra’s product offering.
Relationship Building: Continuously build and nurture relationships with potential customers. Build a foundation of trust by understanding their needs, sharing customized solutions, and industry/product knowledge. Work closely with our Sales leadership team to align on strategies, campaigns, and key insights.
Help Define our Sales Motion: Partner alongside our sales leadership team to create and define goals, strategies, processes, and documentation. As a founding member of our BDR team, your work will directly impact how our GTM function operates and succeeds.
Establish a Positive and High-Energy Culture: Foster a collaborative, goal-oriented, and positive team culture that motivates BDRs to excel in their roles. Encourage healthy competition, celebrate successes, and maintain a supportive work environment.
What You’ll Bring:
3-6 years experience in business development leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing and scaling high- performing teams.
Communication & Relationship Building: Past experience building rapport with internal sales teams and external partners. Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of audience.
Prospecting & Lead Generation: Proven track record of identifying potential clients and converting them to qualified leads.
Adaptability & Resilience: Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to changing priorities. Past experience overcoming obstacles and utilizing creative outreach strategies to effectively increase engagement.
Even Better:
Industry Experience: Experience supporting Enterprise B2B and/or SaaS sales organizations.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the AI landscape, key players, and emerging
