Hi, we're The Browser Company 👋 and we're building a better way to use the internet.

Browsers are unique in that they are one of the only pieces of software that you share with your parents as well as your kids. Which makes sense, they're our doorway to the most important things — through them we socialize with loved ones, work on our passion projects, and explore our curiosities. But on their own, they don’t actually do a whole lot, they’re kind of just there. They don’t help us organize our messy lives or make it easier to compose our ideas. We believe that the browser could do so much more — it can empower and support the amazing things we do on the internet. That’s why we’re building one: a browser that can help us grow, create, and stay curious.

To accomplish this lofty task, we’re building a diverse team of people from different backgrounds and experiences. This isn’t optional, it’s crucial to our mission, as we need a wide range of perspectives to challenge our assumptions and shape our browser through a bold, creative lens. With that in mind, we especially encourage women, people of color, and others from historically marginalized groups to apply.

About The Role

The Browser Company is hiring for Business Operations to scale and optimize our operations with an eye towards how AI changes the operational paradigm. This role is perfect for a strategic generalist who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building new functions from the ground up.

You’ll start by transforming how our Support and Member Love teams operate, using AI tools as a core lever, then apply that that mindset to other functions across the org. As we grow — particularly as we serve more businesses — you’ll help shape these functions to meet the needs of business customers, and you’ll play a role in standing up new functions like go-to-market as the company scales and needs change. We expect your role to evolve a lot over time.

Overall you will...

  • Work cross-functionally across teams and surfaces to ‘run’ the day-to-day operations of the business

  • Design and launch new operational functions from the ground up, from initial pilots to metrics-driven systems that advance our strategic goals

  • Build frameworks and systems to drive better decision-making, resource allocation, and strategic planning

Your starting focus: Support & Member Love

  • Redesign workflows and tooling for our Support and Member Love teams, with AI at the center. With the AI tools at our disposal, what does best-in-class Support look like in 2026?

  • Define the metrics that matter, build reporting systems around them, and use what surfaces to drive decisions

  • Begin laying the groundwork for how these functions evolve as we serve more business customers — different expectations, different workflows, different scale

Ongoing & expanding scope

  • Help shape the operational foundations of our go-to-market motion as the company grows into new customer segments

  • Design and launch new operational functions as company needs emerge — scoping, piloting, and scaling them against clear goals

  • Build frameworks for resource allocation, strategic planning, and decision-making across the business

  • Continuously experiment with new AI tools and models to challenge assumptions about how work gets done

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, or a related field (e.g., startups, past founder, corporate strategy, GTM).

  • Tinkerer mindset: willing to experiment with the latest and greatest AI tools to rethink how we approach operations.

  • Proven ability to build and implement scalable processes, tools, and workflows from the ground up. You have excellent project management skills, with the ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a preference for candidates experienced in designing and interpreting data-driven models

  • Highly structured in your communication, you convey complex ideas clearly and concisely. You present ideas both written and visually with great attention to detail and impact.

  • The ability to prioritize ruthlessly in order to move quickly. You identify what’s most important alongside the points of diminishing returns. You identify problems and move quickly to establishing solutions.

  • The intellectual agility to generate and shepherd novel ideas, approaches and strategies. Refer to our company values “Ask What Could Be” and “Assume You Don’t Know”.

  • We're primarily focused on hiring in North American time zones and require that folks have 4+ hours of overlap time with team members in Eastern Time Zone.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Our total compensation for full-time employees includes base salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits. The annual base salary range for this role is $165,000 - $190,000 USD. The final offer will depend on your experience, expertise, and interview performance. Our goal is simple: if it feels like the right mutual fit, compensation shouldn’t be the thing that gets in the way. We’ve built a small, talent-dense team who cares deeply about their craft, and we pay competitively in line with current market benchmarks.

  • Benefits: We offer best-in-class benefits (https://go.atlassian.com/perksandbenefits) designed to support you, your family, and your life outside of work. Think big-company perks with startup-style impact, ownership, and ways of working — so you have the space and support to do the best work of your career.

  • Location: We’re a remote-friendly company and can hire in any country where Atlassian has a legal entity. If you live in New York (or want to visit), you’re welcome to work from our office in Williamsburg.

The Browser Company is an ambitious team of close to 100 people (and growing!) who are passionate about building great products. We are a remote-first, distributed team, with the option to work from office in Brooklyn, New York. We strongly support diversity and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
