- Interpret Job Prints & Sketches – Review job prints for special instructions, update clock-in numbers, and ensure you have the correct "recipe" for every panel before you begin.
- Perform Critical Quality Inspections – Measure panels to ensure strict dimensional tolerances and visually inspect materials for dents, scratches, or defects. You are responsible for verifying the correct grain direction on every piece.
- Assemble Architectural Panels – Install corner clips, apply caulking, and attach stiffeners and extrusions using hand tools. You must ensure the correct type and color of screws are used to match the specific job sketch.
- Manage Tool & Material Readiness – Retrieve necessary extrusions for the fabrication process and inspect your tools for accuracy/functionality (testing on scrap material if necessary) to prevent errors.
- Execute Final Verification – Conduct a final review to ensure all components match the job sketch perfectly before setting completed panels aside for Quality Control (QC) inspection and labeling.
- Maintain Workflow Efficiency – Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while keeping your station organized and safe.
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret job prints and technical sketches
- Strong attention to detail (must be able to spot cosmetic defects and check grain direction)
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Dexterity to handle tools and components safely
- Capability to lift and move materials as required
- Previous experience in fabrication, assembly, or a related manufacturing field
- Familiarity with fabrication tools (caulking guns, drills, rivet tools)
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills
- The "Finisher" Mindset – You treat every piece like it’s going on the front of a building. You double-check screw colors and grain direction without being asked.
- Blueprint Reader – You can look at a technical sketch and understand exactly where the extrusions and clips need to go.
- Quality Controller – You don't wait for the QC department to find a scratch; you catch it first.
- Reliable Producer – You show up ready to work and can maintain a consistent pace without sacrificing quality.
