Full job description

Overview

Join a dynamic fabrication team shaping the Nashville skyline.

We are seeking a high-skill forklift operator to handle massive raw materials and finished architectural components in a fast-paced manufacturing plant and yard environment. You will use large-capacity forklifts to unload heavy-gauge metal stock, feed precision CNC stations, and carefully load finished weldments for transport. This is a critical production role requiring the spatial awareness to navigate a busy shop while protecting high-end finishes from damage.

This steady, first-shift career requires experience operating heavy industrial lifts with oversized, awkward loads like structural steel and wide-format plates. You must be a reliable professional who prioritizes safety and takes pride in seeing your work become the visual face of the city’s most iconic buildings. We offer a permanent, stable position with a 4% 401(k) match and comprehensive benefits for those ready to contribute to a high-production, growth-oriented team.

Compensation

  • $23-$24

Shift

  • Monday to Thursday
  • 1st Shift: 5:00am - 4:30pm
  • 11 hour shifts (baked in overtime)

Benefits

  • Health, vision, dental
  • 401(k) + match
  • PTO

Responsibilities

  • Inbound Logistics: Unload heavy-gauge raw metal stock, plates, and bars from flatbeds, ensuring all materials are safely staged for production.
  • Outbound Loading: Securely load finished architectural panels and custom weldments onto trucks, ensuring zero damage to high-end finishes.
  • Production Support: Transport large-scale materials to CNC lasers, waterjets, and welding stations to keep the fabrication flow uninterrupted.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-shift inspections on large-capacity forklifts and report any mechanical issues immediately.
  • Yard & Shop Flow: Organize the external yard and internal storage areas to maximize space and maintain a clear, 5S-compliant work environment.
  • Safety Leadership: Utilize spotters and hand signals when moving oversized loads in tight spaces to ensure the safety of all team members.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Document all incoming and outgoing material movements in the activity logs to maintain real-time inventory precision.

Requirements
Qualifications

  • Heavy Lift Experience: 5+ years of experience operating large-capacity forklifts (15,000+ lbs preferred) in a manufacturing or yard environment.
  • Material Handling: Proven ability to balance and transport "awkward" loads, such as long structural steel bars and wide-format metal sheets.
  • Technical Rigging: Basic knowledge of rigging, strapping, and securing heavy metal loads for safe transit.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, lift up to 50 lbs, and frequently bend, squat, or climb.
  • Reliability: A consistent track record of punctuality and the flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines.
  • Safety Mindset: Sharp spatial awareness and a "safety-first" attitude in a high-traffic industrial setting.

Benefits

  • Health insurance
  • 401(k) matching
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Disability insurance
