CNC Router Operator & Maintenance
Descripción completa del empleo
We are seeking a skilled CNC Router Operator & Maintenance Technician to join our premier manufacturing team. This is not a "button-pusher" role; we are looking for a mechanically inclined professional who takes ownership of their station, from intricate toolpathing in EnRoute/AutoCAD to deep-level machine maintenance. You will operate a suite of CNC routers (including single and dual-table banks) to fabricate highly customized, multi-layered foam decking.
The ideal candidate has a "maker" mindset—someone who can spot a measurement flaw in a design before the spindle even moves and knows exactly how to calibrate equipment to ensure a perfect cut every time. We value a "Unicorn" troubleshooter who understands the mechanics of the machine, can perform repairs, and sharpen tooling to keep production moving with speed and precision. You’ll thrive here if you are detail-obsessed, tech-savvy with CAD/CAM workflows, and enjoy a collaborative, family-oriented shop where innovative ideas are encouraged and rewarded.
Compensation
- $20 - $26 / hr to start
Shift
- Monday - Thursday
- 6:00am - 4:30pm
Responsibilities
- Expert Machine Operation: Set up and run CNC routers (Solaro and similar) to cut custom foam projects based on production due dates.
- Technical Maintenance & Repair: Own the health of the routers. This includes setting up PM (Preventative Maintenance) schedules, sharpening tools, clearing dust collection systems, and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues.
- File & Toolpath Management: Use EnRoute software to toolpath jobs as needed. Review incoming files from the design team for measurement errors or nesting inefficiencies.
- Quality Control & Material Inspection: Inspect foam sheets for tears, discoloration, or adhesive issues (PSA) before cutting. Verify depth settings for multi-colored, layered foam applications.
- Shop Stewardship: Maintain a pristine workspace—cleaning linear rails, emptying dust bins daily, and managing air compressor oil/moisture levels.
- Material Optimization: Actively manage scrap inventory to reduce waste on smaller custom jobs.
Requirements
Requirements
- Deep CNC Experience – Extensive background operating CNC routers (sign manufacturing or cabinet making experience is a perfect fit).
- Mechanical Mastery – Proven ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC equipment—not just operate it.
- Strong Computer Skills – Proficiency in CNC operation and manufacturing software; an AutoCAD background is highly preferred.
- Measurement Precision – Advanced understanding of measurements as they apply to carving depths and material thickness.
- Physical Aptitude – Ability to safely handle materials and perform manual maintenance tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Software Knowledge – Prior experience using EnRoute software.
- Maker Mindset – Experience with custom fabrication, prototyping, or hands-on hobbies that require tool proficiency.
- Team Oriented – A desire to grow within a collaborative environment and a willingness to help train or assist teammates.
