Service Technician & Small Engine Mechanic

Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated Service Technician & Small Engine Mechanic to join an outdoor power equipment dealer and service center dedicated to excellence. We are a premier destination for equipment sales and repair, and we take pride in delivering exceptional service to our community.

In this role, you will play a critical part in diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a wide variety of small engines and outdoor power equipment. Compensation

• $25 - $32 / hr

Responsibilities

• Small Engine Repair: Diagnose and repair small engines and outdoor power equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and similar machines.
• Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates reliably and efficiently.
• Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools to quickly identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Documentation: Accurately record repairs, parts used, and maintenance completed using our internal tracking system.
• Inventory Management: Maintain organization of tools, parts inventory, and workspace cleanliness.
• Collaboration: Work closely with team members and supervisors, clearly communicating any parts, supply needs, or complex repair issues.
• Team Support: Proactively support coworkers, assist in training new team members, and show the potential to take on additional responsibilities.
• Customer Interaction: Occasionally interact with customers professionally, explaining repairs or answering questions.

Qualifications

• Small Engine Experience: At least 3 years of mechanical experience, preferably with small engines or outdoor power equipment (Optional but preferred).
• Mechanical Experience: Broad mechanical experience, including automotive, marine, and power sports (Preferred).
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems (Required).
• Computer Skills: Ability to use computer systems for tracking work orders and inventory management.
• Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Reliability & Work Ethic: Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Tools: Must have your own set of standard industry tools.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and moving throughout the shift.
