Job Summary
We're hiring elite Senior CNC Machinists to become key players in our premier manufacturing facility. We support critical, high-stakes sectors including aerospace, defense, medical, and semiconductor manufacturing. We welcome masters of CNC Milling, experts in CNC Turning, and cross-trained machinists who excel at both.
This role goes far beyond basic machine operation. We need seasoned professionals who can take full ownership of the setup process—from deciphering complex drawings and choosing the optimal tooling to proving out first articles and executing offsets before locking in full production. You'll run everything from 2 and 3-axis lathes to 3, 4, and 5-axis mills, crafting incredibly tight-tolerance parts out of aluminum and stainless steel.
Why Join Us?
- Backed by Ambition: Under new leadership and backed by an aerospace and defense-focused startup, we are injecting serious capital into advanced technology and our workforce.
- Make Your Mark: Step into a role where your expertise directly shapes a company poised to make massive waves in the defense and aerospace sectors.
Compensation
- $100k - $120k / yr (Wages calculated based on a 50-hour work week)
- Unlimited optional overtime available to push your earnings even higher
First Shift
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Monday - Friday
- Note: The 50-hour target for the salary range is easily achievable through our abundant, optional overtime hours.
Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Operation: Independently execute comprehensive setups and run production on 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC milling centers AND/OR 2 and 3-axis horizontal CNC lathes.
- Production Ownership: Analyze complex engineering blueprints, GD&T, and routing instructions to guide projects from initial setup to final production with virtually zero hand-holding.
- Tooling & Calibration: Determine optimal tooling, dial in work and tool offsets, and fully prep machines for precision production runs.
- Advanced Programming: Leverage deep G-code fluency on Fanuc controls to edit programs at the machine, adjust offsets, and troubleshoot manufacturing bottlenecks on the fly.
- Quality Assurance: Lead first-article inspections and continuous in-process checks utilizing manual precision metrology equipment (bore gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, and calipers).
- Shop Standards: Consistently hit exact aerospace-grade tolerances while championing a safe, clean, and highly organized workspace.
Requirements
Qualifications
Required
- Experience: 3+ years of CNC setup experience on Mills (3, 4, or 5-axis) AND/OR Lathes (2 or 3-axis).
- Setups: Proven ability to independently own the setup process and run production without direct supervision.
- Technical: Strong blueprint reading skills and a deep understanding of GD&T and complex work instructions.
- Programming: High level of fluency in G-code and hands-on experience with Fanuc controls and machine-side program edits.
- Precision: Proven ability to hold incredibly tight tolerances.
- Metrology: Strong understanding of precision measurement, with proficiency using traditional manual inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.), not just digital gauges.
Preferred
- Industry: Prior experience machining aerospace, defense, medical, or semiconductor components.
- Equipment: Experience with Hardinge, Doosan, Swiss-style, or similar CNC lathes.
- Versatility: Dual capability on both CNC milling and turning centers is a massive plus.
